Today, business improvement and standards company, BSI announces Marston Holdings as the first organization it has certified to the UK Digital Identity & Attributes Trust Framework. BSI is part of the Government’s pilot certification scheme to become accredited to certify against the framework, which is defined as a set of rules for organizations to follow if they want to provide secure and trustworthy digital identity and/or attribute solutions. The launch of the framework and pilot certification scheme follows the Government announcing its intention to enable employers and landlords to use certified digital identity service providers (IDSPs) to carry out identity checks on their behalf.
The UK Digital Identity & Attributes Trust framework has been designed for people to easily use and reuse their digital identities and attributes between organizations. By following a set of standardized requirements for secure services, organizations within the framework can describe digital identities and attributes they’ve created in a consistent way, making it easier for organizations and users to complete interactions and transactions, or share information with other trust framework participants within and across sectors.
Frank Lee UK & I Product Certification Director at BSI comments: “Achieving certification to the UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework provides clients with the assurance that they will receive a safe and streamlined digital identification experience.
“BSI is delighted to be one of only five certification bodies under UKAS offering this scheme and would like to say a huge congratulations to Marston Holdings for being announced as our first organization to achieve certification to this framework.
“As more and more organizations leverage digital identities and related technology, we expect the demand for the scheme to grow and we look forward to working with many more digital identity service providers in the future to achieve certification.”
Craig Scott, Group Operations Director, (BPO), at Marston Holdings commented, “Marston Holdings is delighted to be the first business to be accredited to the UK Digital Identity & Attributes Trust Framework by BSI. We have a very strong relationship with BSI who accredit us for a range of ISO certification across many parts of our business and so we had no hesitation in working with them to achieve this latest accreditation. As a pioneering business within the identity document verification industry and as a market leader in providing clients with a fully managed right to work and background screening service, the accreditation provided by BSI to Marston Holdings helps identify us as a trusted partner to both our current and future clients”.
